Summary In this paper we examine the problem of finding an optimal position for a receiver node in a single-hop sensor network. The basic idea is to minimize the network energy consumption according to a particular network cost function. Our contribution is to simply show the effect of signal path loss rates and sensor weighting on the optimal receiver position.
