Summary The method involves having a cylinder liner surrounded by a cooling agent channel where exterior to it an isolation layer is assigned. The isolation layer is within the inner walls of the cooling agent channel so that its exteriors are brought in. The isolation layer is formed with the cooling agent channel as a one piece so that the isolation layer is connected positively with the inner wall of the cooling agent channel. The isolation layer is manufactured at the same time with the cooling agent. The cooling agent channel is directly cast.
