Summary This dissertation provides a critical reflection on the author's published work over 30 years to forge an understanding of the indivisibility of cultural and natural heritage values, both tangible and intangible, in the Australian landscape. There are prospects for establishing a distinctively Australian conservation management of cultural landscapes.
