Summary In Australian regulated rivers, dams and weirs have contributed to serious declines in the distribution and abundance of migratory fish. This thesis has evaluated four fishways in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland and provided new information for 51 migratory fish species. Fishways will be crucial for management and conservation of biodiversity.
