Summary Evaluates the current Australian Standard method (AS3853.1) for the determination of total hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) in stainless steel welding fume. Investigates the extraction kinetics of this Cr(VI) into a range of media. Develops an analytical method for the determination of Cr(VI) in acidic extract solutions and investigates the extraction of Cr(VI) under simulated in vivo conditions.
