Summary This paper presents a method that can be used to produce authentic highway height data using a set of probability distributions. A highway is considered as a complex road which can have any kind of possible geometrical variations. The presented method models highway heights by Rayleigh probabilistic distribution function. The proposed model is then used to produce a random road whose 3D representation is presented. The random roads generated using the proposed method can be used as input for vehicle modeling and simulation applications.
