Summary  Initially, synergistic reinforcement PVA composite has been successfully developed by using graphene and MMT. Furthermore, new knowledge of the crystallization mechanism of the PVA and PVA composites was revealed. Finally, Isothermal degradation kinetics models and mechanism of the as-prepared composites were also proposed.
