Summary  In women with clinically severe obesity, 250 minutes of moderate to vigorous intensity aerobic and resistance exercise training combined with energy restriction facilitated fat mass loss and protected against lean mass loss. Additionally, exercise training resulted in clinically meaningful improvements in fitness, physical function, and markers of cardiometabolic disease.
