Summary In this study, through developing a RNA interference based gene-knockdown system, the expression of Survivin - a critical gene involved in breast cancer initiation and relapse was silenced. This approach reversed chemo-resistance, transforming Doxorubicin - a classical chemotherapy drug to one able to act on drug-resistant breast cancer stem cells.
