Summary High dose vitamin C supplementation significantly improved insulin sensitivity in skeletal muscle of people with type 2 diabetes. This clinically relevant improvement corresponded with improvements in vitamin C and oxidative stress levels in skeletal muscle. Vitamin C supplementation could be an effective adjunct therapy in people with type 2 diabetes.
