Summary Large-scale molecular simulations and first-principles calculations were used to reveal biomolecular adsorption at medical implant interfaces at the atomic scale. This work advances our knowledge of the critical junction between biological and synthetic matter, and paves the way for the future development of implant technologies with predictive interfacial properties.
