Summary This thesis explored age-related differences in neurophysiological function, and identified and compared the efficacy and time-course of adaptations following externally-paced strength training, balance and visuomotor training. Older adults were shown to have functional deficits compared to young adults, but the interventions induced neuroplasticity and resulted in improved functional outcomes.
