Summary This thesis examined the relationship between alcohol consumption as a predictor of depressive symptoms during adolescence. Results suggested that alcohol consumption is associated with increases in depressive symptoms, particularly among individuals drinking in early adolescence. Furthermore, developmental trajectories of alcohol consumption may be non-linearly associated with increases in depressive symptoms.
