Summary  This thesis investigates whether deficits in the procedural memory network can explain grammar problems in children with language disorders. Results show that procedural memory is implicated in a wide range of other difficulties. The conceptualisation and assessment of procedural memory requires refinement before a direct tie to grammar acquisition can be made.
