Summary In this research the effect of precipitates on the microplasticity of the Mg-Sn-Zn alloy was investigated. at in the presence of the precipitates, the twin number density and the critical resolved shear stress of twin increased. Orowan model underestimates the observed twin strengthening. This signifies that twinning dislocation is a superdislocation composed of several twinning dislocations.
