Summary This thesis explores the experiences of students and mentors in a school-based mentoring program delivered through a whole-school approach, in an Australian secondary school. Findings indicate that infrastructural frame, frequency of contact and the development of sustainable trusting mentor/mentee relationships were fundamental to the initiative. Year 7 and non-teacher mentors experienced the program differently to their respective cohorts.
