Summary  This work reports on the efficacy of teaching the art of modular design methods with virtual tools to mature-age engineering students undertaking postgraduate studies in SEE712 Embedded Systems at the School of Engineering, Deakin University. Additional lecture and laboratory material were created (Chapter 4 Lecture Material on page 25) for the presentation of this methodology to mature age post-graduate engineers studying SEE712 Embedded Systems.
