Summary Nurses’ professional responsibilities encompass practices and behaviours that are critical to the provision of high quality and safe healthcare. An instrument was developed to measure changes in nurses’ perceptions of their roles in healthcare quality when undertaking postgraduate education. Findings inform curricula and professional programs designed to develop quality related knowledge, skills and attitudes.
