It found that depressive symptoms occur in children with ADHD as young as six years of age. Those with ADHD experienced significantly more depressive symptoms than those without but the presentation of depressive symptoms across those with and without ADHD was found to be similar. Finally, this research demonstrated the significant impact depressive symptoms has on the outcomes of those with ADHD three years later.
