Summary The research has found that firms established corporate foundations to undertake strategic philanthropy, which is non-altruistic and intended to achieve corporate objectives. The implications of the research suggest that foundation trustees may not be meeting the obligations of legal trusts, and that better enforcement is required by regulators.
