The game uses various problem-solving activities to support children in learning common letter-sound matches for the 26 letters of the English alphabet. Point and click interaction, as well as scanning of QR codes in a setup environment (e.g. classroom), form the main modes of interaction. The app has an overarching safari theme, with most of the letters represented by animals (e.g. zebra), and uses an Australian, school-specific font called Victorian Modern Cursive. For teachers and parents, the game serves as a tool that assists with the teaching of letters and their most common sounds, while providing the means by which to gauge and monitor children’s progress over time.
