Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs) are emerging as a promising approach to improving traffic safety and providing a wide range of wireless applications for road uses. Recently, Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) studies focused on the access of technology selection that the user can associate with any radio access technology. This is especially prevalent when there are multiple radio access technologies available. It can carry and distribute information, intercommunicate and communicate with other stationary units deployed along roadways. Following a study of two technologies - DSRC and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) - the use of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology for vehicular communications techniques has been proposed. This chapter analyzes the RFID/IEEE 802.11p for VANET network technology. The simulation result shows that the proposed framework performance has a better connectivity compared with the previous ones.
