This chapter deals with a topic that is very familiar to teachers CCP and students alike. Electricity is very much part of ~ our daily lives and therefore it is not surprising that, based on students' everyday experiences with electricity, they enter the classroom with a wide range of ideas on the subject. Global issues of climate change and renewable energies impact significantly on the production, use and cost of electricity to industry and homes. This has led to initiatives at the government level to find alternatives to the use of fossil fuels to create electricity, and at the household and school level to find ways to lessen the usage of electricity.
