Integrating Innovation and Entrepreneurship into all undergraduate courses: The case of La Trobe University in Australia

chapter
posted on 2017-01-01, 00:00 authored by Silvia McCormack, Christopher ScanlonChristopher Scanlon
In this chapter it is recommended that entrepreneurial education is integrated across all undergraduate degrees in Australian universities. The challenges of globalisation, changing employment patterns and pressures of national competitiveness require an expansion of entrepreneurial skills beyond their traditional disciplinary home in business schools. The chapter presents case studies from an Australian university that has moved to ensure that all undergraduate students have opportunities to develop the skills and knowledge of entrepreneurs. The case studies provide guidance for higher education leaders planning to broaden the scope and application of entrepreneurial education in their institutions.
