Wireless body area networks (WBANs) have recently become popular for continuous monitoring of patients' health remotely. Although offering significant benefits to healthcare providers and patients, WBANs still face major challenges mainly emanating from the constraints associated with WBANs. To cope with the WBANs limitations, a scalable architecture that couples WBANs with Cloud and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies is required. The main objectives of this chapter are to investigate the three technologies individually and explore advantages as well as challenges in detail. Then, the integration of the technologies is studied to overcome many of the existing challenges and prove that WBAN-IoT-Cloud paradigm is capable of providing a comprehensive healthcare monitoring system. However, there are still challenges that need to be considered in developing the paradigm.
