chapter
posted on 2024-03-27, 04:07 authored by A Gilbert, Linda HobbsLinda Hobbs
This systemic review focuses on partnerships enacted within initial K–12 science teacher education across the globe. This includes discussion surrounding the policies driving the lexicon, structure, and nature of partnerships, but the main focus highlights findings regarding the structure and impacts of those partnership activities from research published across the years 2005–2020. This examination of the partnership research led to the emergence of three key themes, including: Partnerships connecting methods courses to school contexts; partnership experiences through school networks; and partnerships linking preservice teachers with organizations beyond the classroom. Implications for partnership research in science teacher education are also discussed.
