Stadia and Facilities

Following an initial “facility boom” during the Greek and Roman periods of civilisation, there was minimal interest in the development of purpose-built stadia to host major events until the latter part of the nineteenth century. The development of internationally standardised football codes led to the building of many stadia across the world that had, in some cases, capacities.
