The arts and teaching for diversity
In this chapter, Jo Raphael and Mary Ann Hunter consider teaching for diversity in the arts education setting of a primary school. They claim that the arts and diversity are important companions, and challenge assumptions of what 'diversity' means in various teaching and learning contexts. In exploring the opportunities and challenges of embracing diversity in arts education, this chapter draws contemporary research in inclusive and affirmative education, and offers insights from teaching practice.
