Background
The work is a collaborative lyric essay in mutual-interview form, by Indigo Perry and Dani Netherclift. The work asks: how might reflection on a shared experience of grief by two writers and how they have engaged that grief in creative writing practice reveal insights into ways catastrophic grief experiences may shape writers’ poetics?
Contribution
The work contributes significantly to research into grief, elegiac form, and collaborative creative writing practices. As the commissioning editor writes in the work’s introduction: ‘This exchange highlights how the intangibility of grief potently forms an invaluable insight into [the authors’] experiences are forced upon their understanding of writing poetics.
