A fuzzy neural network for extracting facial patterns

© 2003 IEEE. A multistage fuzzy neural network is presented for extracting facial patterns from images. The system can handle some image variations due to changes in pose, illumination, etc. It contains three modules: preprocessing, face-components extraction, and final decision-making. The performance of the system is evaluated by conducting experiments on seven large test sets.
