In consumer market, IoT is getting wide attention since the technology is creating the entire ecosystem smart, more effective, user friendly and adding new values to the users and applications. Interfacing IOT systems and controlling them through smart phones, tablets, smart speakers, physical interactions with the systems are reduced and becomes more accessible and user-friendly. In this research, we investigate application of IoT for the development of smart school bags to help students, parents and the school in managing and packing school bag according to the school program and to get notification for misplaced/missed items in the bag. This paper presents an IoT enabled smart school bag to delivers an easier and quicker timetable management for kids going to school and giving instant notification to the parents about the missed/ misplaced items like books, notebooks, hat, water bottle, sport wears, and lunchbox through the developed mobile application. We present the hardware, the IoT server support mechanism and demonstration of the prototype of the bag.
