The aim of this paper is to manage the load variation of a microgrid by controlling the wind generator. An automatic load sharing approach for a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind generator is proposed in this paper considering both resistive and inductive line parameters and variable wind velocity. The load demand for the wind generator is determined based on the variation of its terminal voltage. The pitch angle of the wind blade and the currents of the rotor circuit are controlled to meet the real and reactive power demand of the wind generator. The proposed method is tested by simulating a benchmark microgrid test system. Simulation results show that the proposed control scheme is useful to manage the load variation of a microgrid.
