This symposium will focus on how academics are using blended learning practices in a range of contexts and discuss the process of becoming effective practitioners in this new field of ICT- facilitated education. The discussion will be based on the research of panel members which is now published in a new edited collection of international research, Effective Blended Learning Practices: Evidence-Based Perspectives in ICT-Facilitated Education. A range of perspectives will be presented on effectiveness in pedagogical contexts and also new emergent settings such as communities and professional learning. © 2009 Philippa Gerbic, Elizabeth Stacey, Bill Anderson, Mary Simpson, Julie Mackey, Cathy Gunn, Gayani Samarawickrema.
