According to the lack of a comprehensive literature review in the area of application of data mining in customer churn management, which has become a central issue in customer relationship management nowadays, this paper tackles to provide a brief review of researches in that field from two perspectives: techniques used and statistical reports. From the first point of view, a taxonomy based on the models exploited in papers is provided. The latter perspective gives insight into the trend, place and frequency of publications in the mentioned area. Also some of recent papers are summarized for the sake of interested readers. It is suggested that this paper will point out the gaps and strengths in this research issue, which might be of interest for contributors and researches and business managers respectively.
