Energy costs for heating and cooling greenhouses will vary greatly throughout Australia and will depend on the location, the crop grown, the type of structure and the fuel used. The performance of an experimental solar heated greenhouse over an entire winter heating season is presented. Conventional energy requirements were only 18% of those required by a conventional structure of the same size.
