There is a rising interest for electric vehicle in Singapore. Previous studies face two problems: Firstly, tests conducted in the US or Europe was not able to reflect the battery performance in the tropical area like Singapore. The effect of high temperature and high humidity was not considered. Secondly, vehicle testing is typically conducted without considering the effect of air-conditioning in total energy demand. However, air-conditioning unit is frequently used in Singapore. In this paper, the electric vehicle performance is studied specifically for Singapore environment. A Toyota RAV4 EV was used for experiments. The paper will discuss on the experimental procedures to find out energy consumption of the EV under different driving conditions. It will also analyze the EV power profiles in different test routes.
