This paper introduces the GuideMate application for connecting workers to disabled clients in order to provide guidance to them over real-time streaming media. Experiments have been conducted to understand the usefulness and limitations of the application for the problem of remote assistance for the disabled (e.g., the sight-impaired). We learnt that a protocol for guidance is useful for this purpose.
