Illumination-effects compensation in facial images

conference contribution
posted on 1999-12-01, 00:00 authored by Abbas KouzaniAbbas Kouzani
An illumination-effects compensation method (IECM) is proposed for dealing with face image variations that are due to illumination changes. In the IECM, the determined illumination effects in the face image are compensated for synthesizing a face image under front-lit illumination conditions. The IECM utilizes the theories of the linear object classes and the principal components analysis.
