Iterative channel estimation and decoding (ICED) technique is widely used to improve the performance of the receiver in wireless communication systems. In this paper, we first consider a direct Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) channel estimation with turbo channel decoding for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems under a timevarying channel environment. The soft-information from turbo decoder can be efficiently incorporated into the channel estimator which consequently results in a better performance within the iterative receiver. Then, we propose a new simple and effective time-domain MMSE channel estimation method which even provides a better performance with a low complexity.
