TCP is mostly used protocol for data transmission over a network. There are some other transport layer protocols such as DCC, SCTP, RTP, IL, UDP, RUDP etc but TCP is well-known and most reliable for data transmission. We have also studied satellite link characteristics and found most error occurs in wireless medium for long delay path. We also analyze most recent algorithms and proposals which are published world-wide to solve various problems and improve for overall TCP performance over long delay path. Lastly we do data analysis on some existing systems Here we first analyzed the performance of TCP using the existing algorithm and we found the bottleneck for which TCP suffers lack of efficiency. Sending TCP cannot distinguish between congestion and corruption lose, the bottleneck lies here. We propose an algorithm to mitigate this problem.
