Producing front-lit face images from arbitrary-lit face images using principal components analysis

This paper presents a method to remove lighting-effects in an arbitrary-lit face image whose lighting-effects are pre-determined, and transform the image into a front-lit face image. The concepts of the linear object classes and the principal components analysis are utilised to develop the proposed method.
