Our paper presents the foundations and initial findings of a projected three-year research project that commenced in June 2008. The project focuses on the provision of staff development workshops – in this case Blogs, Wikis, and Social Bookmarking – for Faculty at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. We outline the design research methodology underpinning the research; present a literature review on provision of staff development workshops for faculty; and detail the design, delivery and pedagogical revisions of the workshop. Data gathered on IT literacy levels of participants and satisfaction levels with the workshops will be presented together with the results of a three-month follow-up interview from the first workshop.
