Research statement
The curation of Australia-China Joint Studio Exhibition is a collection of student design projects from universities in both China (2) and Australia (1), that are exhibited together in a particular arrangement for the first time in a recognised event where the curation embodies research in the advancement of understanding in cross-cultural approaches to architecture and urban design achieved through collaboration across international institutions and inter- disciplinary fields. The exhibition has exhibited originality and is a synthesis of existing knowledge and novel juxtaposition of architectural projects that Chinese and Australian students have designing in counterpart foreign contexts has enabled new interpretations of global and local issues in architectural and urban design.
