Notes

Works were exhibited between 16 September and 15 November 2011. The opportunity to exhibit these works was secured in a competitive process commissioned and funded by the Frankston City Council's White Street Projects and Arts Victoria. $2,000.00 was provided for the production of six mural scale (2150mm H x 1450mm W) lightbox installations in two cycles of three. The White Street project (WSP) is a new initiative of Frankston City Council’s Cultural Development Unit, designed to offer artists an accessible and inexpensive alternative to the traditional gallery structure and practice. The WSP intends to inspire and promote innovative, contemporary ideas and new ways of presenting art, to engage - and at times challenge - a wider general public. Im/mobile responded with imagery of commuters transiting between Melbourne and Frankston. There is a site-specific expectation which was met by ‘Im/mobile’. The installations are seen as ephemeral projects that have a specified exhibition run, usually 2 - 4 weeks at a particular site.
