Research statement

OnTrac is a program for Adolescent and Young Adults (AYA) who have had a cancer experience. Created as a collaboration between Deakin University, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Fika Entertainment, the ReGenerate App offers educational modules specifically designed for this cohort (such as emotional health, fertility, diet & nutrition), a podcast series, a range of media materials, as well as an innovative Toolkit portal that encourages self advocacy and engagement through the tracking and exporting of data. The nature of the app was determined after a series of design workshops with Peter Mac staff as well as members of the AYA Youth Advisory Board. The first-generation app was delivered in January 2021 and went directly into clinical trials at Peter Mac for the AYA cohort. The research questions that sit under the development of this prototype relate to the mode and method of delivery, using technologically enabled devices and platforms, for this specific at-rick cohort.
