Notes
Available Light was part of the 2017 Geelong After Dark event. This work, a collaboration between David McCooey and Maria Vella, was a 20-minute audio-visual installation. It comprised of text (a poem from David McCooey’s Star Struck), and original music, photography, videography, and montage by McCooey and Vella. While Available Light was screened at the Sally Walker Art Gallery, it was not part of a Deakin event, or auspiced by Deakin in any way. Geelong After Dark is a City of Greater Geelong event that uses spaces throughout Geelong; the Deakin connection was coincidental. Work appears on the program by invitation only, and artists’ fees were paid. Available Light attracted over 700 viewers in the course of the night.
