The artwork ‘Explicate’, is part of a new lens based series which explores the apprehensions of post-colonial arts practitioners a decade and a half into the 21st century. The artist operates within a system loaded with the relationships and tensions of place-makers in contemporary Australasia. This work participates with the disruptions and disturbances of colour fields and shapes found on the ground level of the metropolitan Melbourne. Presented with a limited colour palate restricts the interpretation available for the audience, yet with an abstract beauty that draws you in.
