An investigation of alienation and displacement through durational live installation exploring the fragmentation of cultural identity through migration. Conceived as a reshaping of cultural identity in resettlement, Fractured investigates longing and loss and feelings fragmentation. A performance installation – design includes a kitchen dresser on which objects sit and tools are displayed - a hammer, pliers, scissors, hacksaws, from which the performer will choose. Performers wear a lab coat, safety glasses and gloves. Over 6 hours, performer breaks and reconstruct the objects reforming and re-inventing their cultural identity through smashing and reconstructing objects.
