Im/mobile develops imagery of train passengers photographed using a technique that 'dissolves' the vehicle and reveals the temporary human interactions in the state of transit. It is site-specific in the context of White Street Projects which is in the Frankston Station precinct. In terms of public Melbourne commuter transport particularly for the Metro passengers on the Frankston line. It is a window into the demographic and the social relations of suburban Frankston.

Notes

'Extremely Close and Incredibly Slow' exhibition in association with the conference of the same name. The exhibitors were selected in a peer review process by the convenors of the ASCA Universiteit van Amsterdam conference. Comprising a wide range of artworks from paintings to video-art pieces and installations, the workshop's exhibition remained open during the entire three days of the Workshop and the following weekend. The Vondelbunker, a historically significant venue in Amsterdam, served as the site for this artistic display. An opening reception on the 28th of March and organised group visits fitted into the programme highlighted this unique addition to the Workshop. Next to the art exhibition, the workshop's special events also included documentary, experimental and fiction film screenings. - Participating artists are: Paula Albuquerque, Ana Barroso, Adam Chambers, Michael Goldberg, Wiktoria Furrer - Rafael Frueler and Denise Kratzer, Lisa Harms, Gunnhildur Una Jonsdottir, Olivia Joret, Aylin Kuryel, Adomas Lapinskas and Laura Lipinskiene, James McArdle, Moserrat Rifa-Valls, Janneke Van der Putten, Adriel Van Drimmelen, Leonardo Vargas and Ruby Wallis. - The location: Hidden under a bridge in Vondelpark lies an old nuclear shelter dating from 1953 – one of many that were built in and around Amsterdam during the Cold War Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis International Workshop was held 28-30 March 2012
