The creative work developed and presented for final examination for the Portrait as Parasite takes the form of large-scale digital images as well as paintings. The project explores ‘network culture’, a term used to describe aesthetic and socio-technical elements of new media and computing and apply them to contemporary painting as a means of conceptualizing the portrait genre.
